What's New Feature Story

In addition to recruiting key talent to MRL, MRL Boston has leveraged its position within the Boston-Cambridge life science cluster to develop an infrastructure that facilitates establishing ties with the local academic and biotech community. The site hosts symposia and seminars that are open to local academic and biotech scientists. These events bring together scientific leaders with MRL researchers to develop a collaborative mentality within each therapeutic area and sharpen our vision for future research opportunities.

These interactions are beneficial to other MRL groups outside of Basic Research. Teams from Clinical Pharmacology and Licensing and External Research also leverage Boston's unique environment to advance programs in their respective areas. In fact,  many of Merck's active research collaborations and third-party contract research deals with outside academic institutions or biotechnology companies have been struck with organizations based right in Boston and the greater Massachusetts community.
