Rupert Vessey qualifed in clinical medicine from Oxford University, UK. He subsequently held positions in internal medicine, diabetes and endocrinology at the Hammersmith Hospital, Royal Postgraduate Medical School, London, John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford and St Bartholomew's Hospital, London. In addition he completed a DPhil in Molecular Immunology as a Medical Research Training Fellow at the Institute of Molecular Medicine, Oxford University UK. He joined the Pharmaceutical Industry in 1997 and since then has held position of increasing responsibility at two major companies, Glaxo and Merck. His experience covers all phases of drug discovery and development from target identification, experimental medicine, early development though to late development. Therapeutic area experience includes vaccines, respiratory and inflammatory diseases and endocrine disorders. He is currently Vice-President, Molecular Profiling and Site Head of MRL Boston.
